Here are general guidelines for the best times to surf in different parts of Sri Lanka

South Coast (Weligama, Mirissa, Hikkaduwa)
Best Time: November to April
Conditions: During the southwest monsoon, the south coast experiences offshore winds and consistent waves, making it ideal for surfing. Weligama, in particular, is known for its long sandy beach and suitability for beginners.

East Coast (Arugam Bay)
Best Time: April to October
Conditions: The east coast, especially Arugam Bay, is best for surfing from April to October during the dry season. This period sees the most consistent swells and favorable wind conditions, attracting surfers from around the world.

West Coast (Negombo, Kalpitiya)
Best Time: December to March
